![]() Out of all these products the only one i didnt care for was the liquid eyeliner.in my opinion Hard Candy is among the best of the budget makeup. I also use their mascara primer, carbon black volumizing mascara (the only mascara I've used that actually does what it says it should do), all different colors of their nail polish, their cream eyeshadow, pressed eyeshadow, lash tinsel/glitter (which i gotta say is soooo much fun!!), this "lotion"thats supposed to add a certain "glamour" or sheen to your skin, their cream makeup remover and their liquid eyeliner. I've used their Sheer Envy Primer for over a year now and its the only primer I'll ever use again. On a side note, Hard Candy has some AMAZING products. I use both liquid and powder foundation and it pretty much stays on all day. It also comes with a pencil for when you need to fill in. I was mainly baffled by how little you need to use out of the tube! It's great because that means you don't have to run out to buy a new one in a good long while. This Hard Candy tattoo concealer blends easily on your skin to hide blemishes, scars and dark circles. I have tried COUNTLESS concealers and this one has fixed every problem I have. ![]() Thank you for this amazing review!!! I have loved Hard Candy for a good while now and just recently purchased this specific item. Anyways thanks for another fantastic review!! Reply Delete In fact, if your curious, I would go to a clinique counter and ask if you can try a sample in the color light petal- that's the one I'm raving about, i can not recommend any other shades since i have not tried them. I'm not trying to sell you this product in any way. At 16 dollars it is pricey, but like i said, it lasts for over a year, even used everyday. (I can not use it on any other part of my face it is really that peachy) I have severe under eye purple/blueness and it completely cancels it out. It is made for eyes, so it is practically orange. So pigmented that I use it everyday, since March 2010, and I still have another four months of use out of it. It comes in a squeeze tube-just like the hard candy one. I have the lightest color which is 003 Light Petal. It also reminds me of a lesser known product that I LOVE! Clinique has a concealer called "All About Eyes" and it is AMAZING, it really is made for eyes. Since it aims at covering tattoos it reminds me of Kat Von Dee's "tattoo concealer", which has been the hype in the high-end makeup world right now. I think that this is such a great product.

So it is that, on their return from the land of the Picts, while Saint Cuthbert with open hands gives thanks for the miraculous catch of fish that it was granted to him to make, his brother in mission, at the prow of the Church, points to all the souls that were saved.Įarly Christian art can strike our modern sensibilities as being a bit primitive. Now, it is not the will of My Father who is in heaven, Jesus tells us, that one of these little ones should perish (Mt 18:14). Can anyone be saved outside the visible Church? For man it is impossible. It represents the infinite divine mercy which in the person of Jesus Christ will come again in glory on the last day and will speak the last word of history. This explains the golden frame * in which this dynamic depiction of the new and eternal Ark is situated: the ship crisscrosses the seas in order to snatch souls away from their native curse through the grace of their baptismal rebirth, and so this frame, which embraces the Church as well as the abyss, down to the infernal regions, is gold like the heaven of the elect. In reality, Christ’s Passion lacks nothing for the glory of God and our salvation. However, we hasten to explain: Mission work is lacking in Christ’s Passion only insofar as it comes in addition. It is up to his disciples to take up this responsibility until he comes again. In a manner of speaking, mission is the essential thing that is lacking in the Passion of Christ for his body which is the Church (cf. Col 1:24). The new and eternal Ark furrowing the seas Hence the first and absolute requirement of charity which, for Christians, means mission work. ![]() Outside of this well-demarcated influence, there is no salvation: The abyss of perdition represented by the sea leads inevitably to the horror of damnation represented by the red-hot fire of hell. In the Communion of Saints, they will become active members of Christ’s kingdom-here represented by a golden solar frame, prolonging exactly, not upwards but in the direction of the infinite depth of its celestial fulfillment, the earthly influence of the ship of the Church. From now on these souls will embody the Church and become sharers in Christ’s charity, and thus escape the damnation to which they had been doomed. ![]() This background is sown here with fleurs de lys: with their corollas opening upward they symbolize the souls that are open to receiving the grace of salvation. This fiery sky represents the fire of hell to which the souls of the Picts were doomed before their passage from the waters of the abyss to the waters of baptism. The red background of the sky is made with lead oxide-the minium that gave its name to miniatures. Here, then, is this ship, depicted on its primordial peregrination, which is mission itself. ![]() But it is also the place where Jesus walks on water without sinking into it, the place where the ship of the Church ventures, fluctuat nec mergitur (“she is tossed but does not sink”). It is the depiction of the universe that has been perverted by original sin and has come under the domination of Satan, the prince of this world. The sea, with its waves and its immense swell, is the place where the Egyptians perish, along with the pigs that were possessed by the devil. We know that in the Arthurian legend, Lot was the husband of Arthur’s sister, Morgause, and the father of Sir Gawain, Gareth, and Mordred. He then became bishop in the kingdom of Lot, in the southwest of present-day Scotland. It was said about him, as about the holiest missionaries, that he fulfilled the Lord’s prophecy: You will also do the works that I do, and greater works than these you will do! (Jn 14:12). There is a veritable golden legend about Saint Cuthbert’s mission among the Picts. After resisting the Romans, the Picts maintained until the tenth century a powerful kingdom occupying a large part of present-day Scotland-a kingdom where Christianity had not yet succeeded in taking root until Saint Cuthbert († 687) evangelized it. This English miniature from the twelfth century depicts the return of Saint Cuthbert, and of two of his brother monks, from the land of the Picts where they were on mission. Likewise, two hands that have identical pairs would be decided by the fifth card. Note that if two hands contain the same high pair, then the ranking of the next card in the hands determines which one wins. In such a case, the tied players split the pot. Two hands that are identical, card for card, are tied since the suits have no relative rank in Poker. When more than one player has no pair, the hands are rated by the highest card each hand contains, so that an ace-high hand beats a king-high hand, and so on. No Pair – This very common hand contains "nothing." None of the five cards pair up, nor are all five cards of the same suit or consecutive in rank. One Pair – This frequent combination contains just one pair with the other three cards being of different rank. Two Pairs – This hand contains a pair of one rank and another pair of a different rank, plus any fifth card of a different rank, such as Q, Q, 7, 7, 4. Three of a Kind – This combination contains three cards of the same rank, and the other two cards each of a different rank, such as three jacks, a seven, and a four. Straight – Five cards in sequence, but not all of the same suit is a straight. An example is Q, 10, 7, 6, and 2 of clubs. It does not matter what the fifth, unmatched card is.įull House – This colorful hand is made up of three cards of one rank and two cards of another rank, such as three 8s and two 4s, or three aces and two 6s.įlush – Five cards, all of the same suit, but not all in sequence, is a flush. The odds on being dealt this hand are 1 in almost 650,000.įour of a Kind – This is the next highest hand, and it ranks just below a straight flush. The highest-ranking straight flush is the A, K, Q, J, and 10 of one suit, and this combination has a special name: a royal flush or a royal straight flush. A straight flush consists of five cards of the same suit in sequence, such as 10, 9, 8, 7, 6 of hearts. Straight Flush – This is the highest possible hand when only the standard pack is used, and there are no wild cards. ![]() Examples of five of a kind would be four 10s and a wild card or two queens and three wild cards. The various combinations of Poker hands rank from five of a kind (the highest) to no pair or nothing (the lowest):įive of a Kind – This is the highest possible hand and can occur only in games where at least one card is wild, such as a joker, the two one-eyed jacks, or the four deuces. Except in a few versions of the game, a Poker hand consists of five cards. While Poker is played in innumerable forms, a player who understands the values of the Poker hands and the principles of betting can play without difficulty in any type of Poker game. When new cards are introduced, both packs are replaced, and the seal and cellophane wrapping on the new decks should be broken in full view of all the players. In clubs, it is customary to change cards often and to permit any player to call for new cards whenever they wish. In many games in which two packs are used, the dealer's left-hand opponent, instead of the right-hand opponent, cuts the pack. When it is time for the next deal, the shuffled deck is passed to the next dealer. The procedure for two packs is as follows: While the deal is in progress, the previous dealer assembles all the cards from the pack he dealt, shuffles them, and places them to the left. While one pack is being dealt, the other is being shuffled and prepared for the next deal. Poker is a one-pack game, but today, in virtually all games played in clubs and among the best players, two packs of contrasting colors are utilized in order to speed up the game. ![]() ![]() ![]() The standard 52-card pack, sometimes with the addition of one or two jokers, is used. There is plenty of luck in Poker, but the game requires incredibly great skill as well, and each player is the master of his own fate. Poker can be played socially for pennies or matchsticks, or professionally for thousands of dollars. There are hundreds of versions of Poker, and the game is played not only in private homes, but also in countless Poker rooms at famous casinos. A variation - Stud Poker - appeared at about the same time. During the Civil War, the key rule about drawing cards to improve one's hand was added. In the 1830s, the game was refined further and became known as Poker. As early as the sixteenth century, Germans played a bluffing game called "Pochen." It later developed into a French version, called "Poque," which was eventually brought over to New Orleans and played on the riverboats that plied the Mississippi. ![]() >for most purposes-it has incomplete data, there is something weirdly In theory, it seems that an iPad might finally come close to how we used to read and annotate back in the old days, only better, but we all know that not everything we envision materialises just because we want it to. You can also open a web page in LT’s internal browser and have LT convert the page to a PDF for you. If you use DEVONthink to Go, which support iOS’s document provider service, then in LT you can quickly add a document from DEVONthink via the Files app. On the other hand, LT can also let you combine multiple documents into a package, take notes across all those files, and export the notes as a whole. The best thing about MN is that is available on macOS and iOS-and the developer has finally managed to get iCloud sync working reliably. Love them so that their attack becomes unwarranted and worthy of judgment pray for them so that God will work directly in their lives either to limit their attack or win them over to faith and fellowship. ![]() There's no reason to feel helpless when confronted with our various enemies in this life because God has clearly instructed us in what to do in order to defeat them. The only difference is that they will serve unknowingly and will receive no reward for their effort. And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.Įven those who consciously work against God are ultimately in His service and our prayers put them there. All Things do Work for Good and God's Purpose. As far as our personal enemies are concerned, we need to pray for them because no one else may be praying for them. This knowledge alone should spur us on to pray fervently not only for our enemies but also that God send out workers to proclaim the good news of the only true God, Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I am often saddened at the thought of how much energy is expended throughout the world every day and night by sincere people who are praying to entities, ancestors and beings that are not God and have no power to hear, let alone answer prayer. Only a believer can effectively offer a prayer to God. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. ![]() The Prayer of a Righteous Person can Avail Much. But how to forgive a brother who shares the faith and worships alongside you?Įven for this brother in this situation, prayer is the answer and the power required to heal because the One who answers prayer is the Lord of both you and your enemy, believer or non-believer. You can feel sorry for this person and more easily forgive them because they are offending in ignorance. It's easy to pray for someone who is lost, doesn't know, refuses spiritual things. Many times your worst enemy is in the church, singing alongside you or serving you the communion. The offense that really hurts is the one committed by a believer in Christ. I get why Jesus said, "Father, forgive them for they do not know what they are doing" ( Luke 23:34). Most times they don't know what they are doing, who they are doing it to and the consequences they face from an avenging God. This is why I find it easier to offer them forgiveness. Those whose lives are not consciously led by the Lord shouldn't be expected to act like Christians because they don't believe. In my experience, I have found it easier to forgive and pray for those who don't believe because I'm not expecting them to act like believers in the first place. Of course, this assumes that your enemy is an unbeliever. You're Not Defeated Just Because Your Foe is an Unbeliever. This should be encouraging for us when we have to deal with an "enemy" and help us pray for them because: 1. The wonderful thing about prayer is that you don't have to witness it or even believe in it for it to affect you. In Matthew 5:44, Jesus tells His disciples that they should "pray for those who persecute you." This is timely instruction for our nation especially during these turbulent times, but, have you ever wondered what praying for your enemies does? After all they don't see or hear the prayer so how can it affect them? ![]() The holiday's traditions include fireworks and folk dancing. But, because none of it would have been possible without "El Grito de Dolores," that date holds none of the cultural significance that September 16 does. Spanish Viceroy Juan de O’Donojú signed the Treaty of Cordoba on August 24, 1821, formally approving a plan for an independent Mexican monarchy.Īs such, August 24 technically could be considered the real Mexican Independence Day, as that's when Spain acknowledged the separation by way of O’Donojú's signing. Iturbide's Plan de Iguala, established three key tenets of sovereign Mexico: Independence from Spain, equality for Spaniards and Creoles within the country, and a ban on all religions besides Roman Catholicism. With the help of Agustín de Iturbide, a Mexican military leader who defected from Spain, the freedom fighters took Mexico City in February 1821 and declared national independence Though Hidalgo's attempt at a revolution was unsuccessful, it inspired another priest, José María Morelos, to create a more cohesive, prepared fighting force with the same goal. When Mexicans celebrate Independence Day, they reenact this cry," Aguirre says. "One thing that’s really important when you talk about Mexican Independence Day is what’s known as 'The Cry of Dolores,' which was the speech that was given to fight for independence. Hidalgo, who resided in the city of Dolores famously took up the banner of the Virgin of Guadalupe, Mexico's patron saint, inspiring many to follow him and begin the fight for independence in earnest. Mexican Independence Day celebrates the beginning of Mexico's fight for sovereignty.Ī pivotal tradition of the holiday is honoring "El Grito de Dolores."
